Plant Community Ecology (D-USYS)

Professor Janneke Hille Ris Lambers is Head of the Plant Ecology Group at ETH Zürich (IBZ, D-USYS). Originally from the Netherlands, she completed her academic training in the USA and was a Professor at University of Washington until she moved to Zürich in 2020. Dr. Hille Ris Lambers and her group study the impacts of climate change on plant populations (e.g. timing of flowering) and communities (e.g. abundance and traits of co-occurring forest trees). She uses multiple approaches (e.g. experiments, monitoring, citizen science) to address questions of interest in forest and alpine meadow habitats, both in Washington State (USA) and in Switzerland.
